Return to Play Event #1 - Application Open

NorCal is looking forward to providing a safe return to soccer and will be offering Return to Play Event #1. This event will be county or bordering county-based, starting between March 6th and March 21st. The actual start date will be dependent on when a county opens and the logistics for each club's capability to play and host games. The event will be shorter in duration than a normal league as we know all clubs and counties are currently in different situations - this will provide much more flexibility.

Please click below for the registration link and more information about the Return to Play Events. Application deadlines will vary by county and will be communicated next week.

LINCOLN FC 2021 RETURN TO PLAY FAQ

When will we return to play?

  • Soccer is classified in the orange tier
  • Soccer competitions will not return until Placer County is the orange tier
  • When we return to play, competitive play will be restricted to county play.
  • NorCal Premier will continue to follow the County and State guidelines that allow for soccer in the Orange tier.
  • There has been movement from State that may change when we can return to play however nothing officially has been announced.

How do these restrictions/guidelines relate to our program?

  • Lincoln FC will continue to operate under the guidelines put in play by the CDC, State, and County. US Soccer has confirmed that operating outside of the guidelines will invalidate our insurance coverage.

Since there was not a fall league will there be a refund of the player registration fee?

  • Yes, there will be a prorated refund after the decision is made if there is a Spring League.

Why will the refund be prorated?

  • The refund is prorated due to some of the fees that must be paid.
    • Registration fees covers:
      • US Soccer membership/player pass
      • Insurance
      • Field rentals
      • Field lights
      • Player fee paid to the City of Lincoln

Will there be a Spring League?

  • There will be a Spring League when the county moves to the orange tier. The spring league format has not been decided. It could be a short season or a tournament style season where you play 3-4 games in a weekend.

Can the teams continue to hold training sessions?

  • Yes, several teams have elected to continue training and fields/lights are available upon request if not already scheduled.

When will the 2021 tryouts be held?

  • No official tryout date has been set.
  • The older age group tryouts will most likely be held after high school season is over.
  • Younger Age groups may be held during the normal tryout window (End of May – Early June)
